Raising Roan

Roan rode his very first roller coaster – the Caterpillar – at the 2007 Maryland State Fair! Lavina tried to put Roan on her lap, as she saw another mom do with her toddler, but Roan insisted on sitting in his own place like a big boy. Lavina LOVES roller coasters, so it was an honor to escort Roan on his first time around the track. If memory serves right, Lavina rode her first roller coaster with Uncle Joe at Kiddie Kingdom near Chicago. Lavina remembers him laughing really large, Ho-Ho, classic “Uncle Animal” belly laughs. At this year’s state fair, Roan also got to eat his first corn dog after visiting and petting cows, pigs, llamas, goats, turkeys, sheep, and ponies.
